Acid lime is the third-most important species of citrus in India after mandarin and sweet orange. India is one of the largest producers of acid lime. It is a rich source of vitamin C and possesses great medicinal and nutritional value. It is a rich source of vitamin C. Acid Lime is largely used for garnishing and flavoring several vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes because of its acidic nature. In India, acid lime is mainly cultivated in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat ranks first in area and production of acid lime. Major export markets are the Middle East and Europe that majorly include the United Arab Emirates (UAE, the United Kingdom (UK), Afghanistan, Nepal, Qatar, and Kuwait.
